How ApplePriceHunt Works

We help travelers and smart shoppers find the cheapest place to buy Apple products. Here's how we do it.

We track prices from real retailers

Our system monitors prices from authorized Apple resellers and official Apple stores across 6 countries. We track 7 retailers in Vietnam alone, including CellphoneS, FPT Shop, ShopDunk, and Apple VN.

Prices are updated every few hours

Our automated scrapers run multiple times per day to capture the latest prices, discounts, and stock availability. Every price on the site shows exactly when it was last verified.

We calculate the real cost for tourists

The listed price isn't the true cost. We factor in tourist VAT refunds (up to 10% back in some countries), processing fees, and even forex conversion costs to show you the actual price you'll pay.

Compare across countries instantly

See the same product's effective price across all tracked countries side by side. Our comparison includes VAT refund calculations specific to each country's tourist tax policies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the pricing data come from?
We collect prices directly from retailer websites and APIs. For most retailers, we use their official product APIs. For stores behind Cloudflare protection, we use Google Shopping data as a fallback. We never make up or estimate prices - every number comes from a real retailer listing.
How accurate are the VAT refund calculations?
We use the official VAT rates and tourist refund policies for each country. However, the actual refund you receive may vary slightly due to processing fees, minimum purchase requirements, and airport-specific procedures. Our calculations show the typical case for a tourist buyer.
Are the prices in real-time?
Prices are updated every few hours, not in real-time. The 'Updated X ago' badge on each page shows exactly when the price was last verified. Flash sales or sudden price changes may not be reflected immediately.
How does the negotiation calculator work?
In some countries (especially Vietnam), physical electronics stores expect and welcome price negotiation. Our calculator shows estimated prices at different negotiation levels based on typical discount ranges for that country. Online prices are usually fixed.
What currency conversion rates do you use?
We use mid-market exchange rates from the European Central Bank, updated daily. Actual rates at banks, airports, or credit cards will typically include a 2-4% markup, which we factor into our home country comparison.
Is ApplePriceHunt affiliated with Apple?
No. ApplePriceHunt is an independent price comparison tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Apple Inc. in any way. All product names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners.
