Apple has 10 retail stores in Japan - including flagship locations in Ginza, Shibuya, Omotesando, and Marunouchi in Tokyo, as well as stores in Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Kawasaki.

Japan's Apple prices are set in JPY and have historically been competitive due to favorable exchange rates. However, since June 2023, Apple suspended tax-free purchases for tourists at Apple Stores in Japan.

For tourists, the lack of tax-free shopping at Apple Stores makes third-party retailers like Bic Camera and Yodobashi a better value, as they still offer tax-free purchases for foreign visitors.
